Genesis Chapter 3 tells the story of that paradise lost; the result of the first willful human sin. The consequences: immediate shame and lifelong separation from their home with God.

Genesis Chapter 2 focuses on the creation of humanity and the Garden of Eden. It describes how God rests on the seventh day after completing creation. God forms man from dust and breathes life into him, placing him in the Garden of Eden to tend it. God commands the man not to eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. To address the man's solitude, God creates a woman from his rib, establishing the institution of marriage. The chapter emphasizes the intimate relationship between God, man, and woman, highlighting the importance of companionship.
